boy time flies.. and then it doesn't

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!
We woke up around 6:00 and looked at the clock just in time to see it turn off along with all the power. My folks were suppose to come and my brother and his wife too but we canceled that because the roads were so bad. At 8:30 we woke up the kids and they got to see what Santa had brought them. After Lincoln opened up his gifts we told him that "Santa brought you those!" He then climbed up on the couch and looked out the window and hollered "Thank you Santa!" Seeing hi do that without any coaching made us feel like maybe we aren't such bad parents after all. He is so polite sometimes.
Since I wasn't able to do all my shopping myself my mom kindly took my list and did it for me. But, since she wasn't there Christmas morning Aaron didn't get any gifts. I felt pretty bad. He did however make my day with his gift to me. We celebrated later that day with half of his family and then the next day with the rest of them. and then on Saturday we had my family over and opened the rest of our gift. I was so nice to have so much family to visit and for so many days. I think it should be like that every year. This way it isn't so crazy and rushed.
Since then we have had power and yesterday the phones came back on.

So, here is the latest baby update. For those of you that haven't voted twice here is your chance.
Yesterday I had another appt. and we made some plans. I am still at 50% but a little more dilated okay very little (1+) ha ha I know. Anyway, my doc is out of town till Saturday around 4:00pm. No worries though. I really don't much care who delivers this one as long as it isn't at home with just me and Aaron and my kids. We scheduled a regular appt. for Monday the 5th at 3:30 and then we also scheduled one for induction at 6:00 am on Monday the 5th. Since I really don't want to be induced I can cancel that appt if I want. The reasons that I would get started are if the weather is bad. If it looks like we will get snowed in and the roads are bad again then we will go a head and get me started Monday morning. Other wise I hope to be able to go into labor on my own. I don't want to be started since it cost about $800 when I was started with Lincoln. For that much money I can wait a few more days. Ideally, (is that spelled right?) We want to go into labor quietly on Saturday and have the baby some time after 5:00 pm then we can skip church (ha ha) and Sunday come home. That way when Monday comes I can work if I have to. (hopefully I don't have to!!!!!!!!!) So if the baby gods are listening, Here's hoping for Saturday!

HMMMM.... WELL...

Still no baby yet. I went to another Dr. appt today and she says that maybe this week. I have given up and decided that instead of waiting to go to the hospital and wondering if every braxton hicks contraction is "the one", I will not even start timing them till they hurt so bad. Besides. I will probably be snowed in anyway so I bookmarked the page that has the home delivery instructions and told Aaron how to do it. So we should be fine... What?!!!! Who the heck wrote that?!!!
No I will not be fine with a home delivery!!! This baby just better get here soon and the roads better be clear or else I'm taking the snow machine to Blackfoot. Gosh dang it!!!
Here's hoping for a baby soon (but not till after Christmas!)
Merry Christmas!!

POVEY BABY POOL

I went to the Dr. yesterday (they changed my appointment to Wed from Thursday) and well,... I'm typing on this blog so as you can tell, they sent me home. No change at all!!! arghhh! My Doc say she is pretty sure that this week I'll have it. So since everyone except Jaime said Friday then I'm gonna give you all a 2nd vote if you like. I could still have it Friday though. Who knows! Probably it will be on Christmas Eve. Which by the way, is my next appt. at 9:00 am.
Oh, also we still haven't been able to decide on a name for the little guy yet so if you have any suggestions you may be in for a 2nd prize!!! Yes, the pleasure of knowing that you came up with the name for my baby boy!! Oh how exciting!!! That might even be a better prize than $20 bucks. Here is our list of names.

Kali's list of possible names:
1. Kyle
2. Kooper
3. Kash
4. Bo
5. Riley

Aaron's list of possible names:( I hope he is only joking but then he did say "Man, too bad I wasted all the good names on my dogs.")
1. Zeus
2. Ferris Bueller
3. Ceazar
4. Jose
5. Rodolfo

Names we both kinda like:
1. Kyle-It is a little more common than we like

As you can see we need some help!! So let the naming game begin!!

OH CRAP!!

Well since Kim had so much fun with her little blog when she had her baby I thought that I would do a little bit of copying! (That's what happens when you do so good at your writing it makes people want to copy:)

So, I went to the Dr. the other day and She told me I was 36 weeks and then checked me and said that it looked like my due date of January 9th was still on. I said "wait a minute I thought I was due on the 14th." She said no and that the ultrasound actually said the 4th of January. So after a couple of deep breaths, I went home. I called Aaron and told him and then we made a list (or should I say I did) of all the things we needed to get done now that we were a week a head of schedule.

Well I went to my next appointment and on Thursday and the Doc checked me again. She then reached for my chart and looked it over and then looked at me again. I said, " What??? She said "honey, you are dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced" I said "No way!" She laughed and asked a few more questions and told me to go home and rest. No long walks or lifting. Ha HA HAAAA! Does she not know what a procrastinator I am? I still don't have any Christmas shopping done, or baby stuff out of the boxes or the room put together or the bassinet out or...or... okay so nothing is done. Yeah right I can go home and rest. Plus the business isn't even close to letting me go on maternity leave (as if I ever got any in the past).

So after the little bit of freaking out I did in front of the Doctor she told me to try to keep the baby in there one more week. "Okay, but can't I keep it in there any longer? Say a month or 2 or 3?" I asked. She just grinned and told me to go home and bring my bag and my husband next Thursday.

For all those of you who are expecting wonderful thought out gift from the Povey's forget it. You are all getting gift cards and things I found online that do or don't guarantee a speedy delivery!

So in the spirit of making thinks a little interesting I too will offer a $20 gift card to the person who guesses the closest to the time and date this baby is born. With Lincoln I was started 3 days past my due date and with Sari I went into labor 3 days before my due date. In the last 2 pregnancies as soon as I started to dilate and efface it was only about a week later that I had the baby. So best of luck and if I have this baby before you all read it then I guess you are out of luck.

My guess:

I think that the doctor will keep me on Thursday and I will have it on Friday morning at 4:00am

Wild hair

You know when you get to feeling like your world is falling apart and you think that there is no way you can do all that you have to do? Well I was having a lot of those days when I found out I was pregnant again for the 3rd time in three years. My business has grown and I am busier than ever and then I found out I was pregnant again. So after many days of trying to figure out what to do Aaron asked me if I wanted a live-in Nanny. At first I thought "heck ya" then I would think about how much it would cost and all the other things that go with it. We talked for a while about it and then thought we'd just look into it a bit more. We filled out a profile on an Au pair website and soon the inquiries started coming in. We would e-mail the ones we liked and from there we could chat and ask questions. Aaron came across one from Spain who was with a family in Miami and was almost done with them. We chatted with her for a while and liked what we heard. We exchanged photos and then said it would be neat to meet her before she went back to Spain. We asked her what tickets would cost. The next day when we were chatting we asked if she found out how much tickets from Miami to Idaho would cost. She said that she did and that she would be here on the 16th of November.!!!!! Wha... Whoa.... Okay. So when we went to Vegas to get another van for my business we swung up through Salt Lake and picked her up at the airport. We have her until December 19th and then she will go home to Barcelona, Spain. If we all decide it is a good fit for us then she can come back.

I don't know if it is the best fit for us though. She is pretty homesick for her boyfriend and family and My kids think that having another person in the house to boss them around isn't such a great idea. I have a hard time communicating with her since English is her 3rd language. Aaron and Becky both speak Spanish so they get along fine with her (although Becky is a bit unsure about the arrangement) I get a little jealous when Aaron and her get to just hop on the horses and go for a ride or when Aaron invites her to go with him to move the animals. He used to invite me... oh, it probably has something to do with how HUGELY PREGNANT I AM!! Even if I did manage to climb up on the horse I wouldn't be able to move my achy body till after the baby got here. And I'm sure when a herd of animals came toward me they would fall down laughing when they saw me standing by the gate waving and hollering. So, I can see why Aaron doesn't invite me to go help lately. So if don't think that we will have a live in Nanny anytime soon but I had been neat to see how it would be. I think if we do go the live-in route then I will insist on one who speaks Fluent English not "pretty good" English. The tings we do like about this one is that she does teach the kids spanish and that she is a country girl at heart. She loves the animals and going outside. She keeps wishing for snow but my wish counters hers. I wish for only rain down here and snow in the mountains.

All in all it has been a good experience so far. It may get interesting when the new baby gets here though.
