Happy V-day!

Aaron and I met through a blind date set up by his sister and a High school classmate of mine. We met at a friends house on a Saturday with about 4 other couples and went to the corn maze in Pocatello. We hit it off from the beginning. We talked the whole way through the maze and got lost. When we finally got through it the rest of our group had been waiting for about 40 minutes. Since he and I were the only couple not married or that had been dating a while dating for a while, we got teased all nite about how we "got lost" in the maze.
After that night he called me the next morning and talked on the phone for a while. the next time I saw him was the following Wed. We went to his family's harvest dinner (yea, met the folks on the 2ND date). that weekend I flew up to Seattle to meet an old boyfriend and see if there was a future with him. I got so miserable sick with bronchitis that I was pretty out of it. My date took that as a sign that we weren't compatible anymore. I got home on Monday evening and talked to Aaron the whole way home from the airport.
One month later Aaron kissed me for the first time. After six weeks he proposed and after 3 months we were married. Awe had 3 fun filled years before we finally added to our family. we then added 1 more bundles of joy each year for the next 2 years.
I love being a mom and I love being married to Aaron. So in tribute to the love of my life,
I LOVE YOU!!!

good or bad luck. hmmmm...?

So lately I have had a bit of bad luck. Or maybe it is good luck.

For my birthday my mom gave me a new pocket knife. She said since I always carry one I should have a one that was a bit more feminine.
and I do take it with me everywhere. Even church.

We were sitting in sacrament meeting and my kids were crawling all over me and wanting treats. I dug through the diaper bag and all I found was one jerky stick. Since it was church and there were three of them I didn’t want them fighting over it and then chewing a smelly chunk of cow, I whipped out my girly knife and cut small pieces for them. Austin was on my lap and trying to get the knife so while trying to keep him away from it I pushed the knife a bit hard. It went into my finger. Since Aaron wasn’t there yet (he had a few calves born that morning and was still dealing with them) had to hurry and wrap a wet wipe around my finger and then get all three kids gathered up and out the door. Thankfully Aaron had just gotten there and was able to take the kids. I drove up to the E.R. and they got me all fixed upo. Turns out I only nicked the tendon and didn’t go all the way through. (good luck? YES) They gave me the option of glue or stitches. I of course took the glue. They had me all fixed just in time for me to get back and teach my nursery and Mia Maid lessons.

After 3 days the splint had to go. I was upset Ii had to miss volleyball the Monday after but by Wednesday i just wrapped it all up (probably too much) and played anyway. Of course everyone noticed it (how could they not) and so the next Monday when I came with only a tiny band aid they probably thought I was faking it the few days earlier. Oh well. I have now healed almost completely but I am a bit shy about using that knife. Now I know why my dad would take our pocket knives to the grinder before giving them to us. Dad, I might need that grinder!

I'd had enough of the unorganised food storage room. I spent all day cleaning and organising while standing on the concrete floor. As I climbed the stairs for the last time that day, I was tired (but Ii had a clean storage room) and was convinced that it was worth it.

I went to volleyball the next day and after only 40 minutes my back was beginning to forget freeze up. If i bent over the muscles didn't want o let me come back up. I sat out for a bit and then played a bit more after a while but when I got home I was really hurting. I took a couple of pain killers and went to bed.

By morning I couldn't get out of bed. My nanny called in sick and so for the next 4 days I layed on the couch or never even got out of bed and my poor kids were my nurses. I have to give them credit

For being only 1, 2, and 3, yrs old they did pretty good. I got all the hugs and kisses a mama could want. I had lots of kleenexes, blankies, and sippy cup drinks (they were sure that is all I needed to get better since that is what makes them feel better). On Friday my nanny came back to work and I made it into the chiropractor and then a massage. I still couldn't get up and move too much and definitely couldn't pick up my kids. So on Monday my mom came to save me. By then I had all all the television I could stand and was ready for some real company. I used to think that 3 massages in a week would be a luxary not a nessesity. But that seems to be the only thing that works. (lucky me!)

After a week of being laid up I have finally convinced Aaron that it might be our bed that is causeing me to have so much pain. He gave in a we picked out a new deluxe bed yesterday. It should be here in 2 weeks and if my bad luck turns to good luck then it will help solve these dang pains. I guess all my bad luck has been followed by good luck! Lucky me!
