I always thought that the types of things I would need when I became a mom consisted of hugs, kisses, and band aids.
Over the past few years I have added duct tape, rope, and suckers.
I thought my "mom tool box" was complete but this morning I added another item.
Tin snips
"why tin snips?" you ask.
Well I'll show you…

I must have said something that sounded like a yes, because a few minutes later she came in and said "it's stuck"
MY SLEEP DEPRIVED MIND (AUSTIN WAS UP ALL NIGHT) I figured her pajama zipper was what was stuck. SO I had her climb in bed with me so could reach her WITH OUT GETTING OUT OF BED. She did and when I reached over I felt a mass of hair. I flipped on the light and kinda just stared at her. It took a minute to realize what I was looking at.
The comb was so twisted up it HAD ABOUT1/2 INCH between her head and the rats nest. The funny thing is that last week my niece had done the same exact thing and she had to have her hair cut. I was determined not to cut her hair .so I broke out the "mom toolbox" and added the following items.
hair detangling spray
Small combScissors
Tin snips
After having to cut the comb into little pieces WITH THE TIN SNIPS (THE SCISSORS WERN'T STRONG ENOUGH) I finally got it out. As I was working on her hair, sari said,
"i was going to be so pretty and then it got stuck"
I assured her she was always pretty and that after we got the comb out of her hair we would have a lesson on how to comb her hair.
As you can see we did just that.

OUCH!!
Why's rope in your mommy toolbox? Duct tape I get. But rope?
rope is for just in case the duct tape doesn't work. oh we also use it to tie to the laundry basket and pull the kids around. :)
